Biography:
Captain Jack Harkness, portrayed by John Barrowman, is a charismatic and omnisexual time traveler from the 51st century who first appeared in the Doctor Who TV show episode "The Empty Child" (Series 1, 2005). He initially traveled alongside the Ninth Doctor.
Harkness, originally a Time Agent, abandoned his post after evidence tampering. He became a con man before encountering the Doctor. His true origins are further explored in the spin-off series *Torchwood*.
